1949 | International Metro Van

The International Harvester Company (IHC) Metro Van, including the KB-3, was developed in the late 1940s as a delivery van for the American market. IHC wanted to create a robust and practical vehicle for urban use that could efficiently serve both trade and services. The Metro Van was ideal for urban deliveries as it offered a generous load space with easy accessibility due to its high design. The KB-3 was one of several variants of the Metro that were offered with different engines and body styles. The eye-catching, high front end and the characteristic chrome details made it a distinctive part of the American street scene.

This extremely rare 1949 International Metro KB-3 M van has been restored with great attention to detail, retaining its original patina and unique character. The vehicle's original paintwork was painstakingly uncovered. It was given a comprehensive overhaul, during which both the engine and the braking system were completely renewed. With its enchanting vintage design and true-to-original interior.

The vehicle has been converted to 12V (original generator included) but the cables are largely original and should be renewed. The car runs very well, has new tyres and is a real eye-catcher.
