The Ferrari 512 Bbi is a milestone in Ferrari's history and represents the final evolution of the legendary 512 Berlinetta Boxer series, produced between 1976 and 1984. The designation "BB" stands for "Berlinetta Boxer" and refers to the distinctive 12-cylinder boxer engine placed low in the rear of the vehicle.

Compared to its predecessor, the 512 BB, the 512 BBI (where the "I" stands for "Iniezione," meaning injection) introduced electronic fuel injection instead of traditional carburetors. This technical innovation led to improved throttle response, more precise power delivery, and greater everyday reliability. The 5-liter engine produced 340 horsepower and enabled a top speed of over 280 km/h, making the 512 BBi one of the fastest supercars of its time.

The design of the 512 BBi, crafted by Pininfarina, remained true to the striking and timelessly elegant style that had already distinguished the 365 GT4 BB and the 512 BB.
