1973 | BMW 3.0 CS

This beautiful BMW 3.0 CS is an early three-liter coupe automatic with chassis number 2231217 and was delivered by BMW on January 16, 1973. The exterior color is the classic original silver metallic look, and the interior is crafted in the highly sought-after original blue velour. It is a model delivered in Germany.

From 2021 to 2023, the car was extensively restored from the ground up by

We have extensive photographic documentation to illustrate the restoration process.

The following work was carried out, but it is only a part of the comprehensive restoration. All work and replacement parts can be verified with invoices.

• Disassembly of all add-on parts, removal of the engine, transmission, suspension, windows, interior, and all electrical components including the wiring harness.
• High-pressure water blasting of the entire body, followed by the immediate use of an anti-rust passivator.
• Bodywork with repair panels from Walloth & Nesch on the A-pillars, firewall, front window frame, front strut towers, sills, floor panels, trunk floor, and rear apron.
• Cold tinning after bodywork.
• Epoxy primer, followed by multi-layer paint in the original BMW color.
• Additional protection of the underbody and wheel arches with polyurethane stone chip protection colored in body paint. Preservation of the cavity protection.
• Powder coating of all suspension parts.
• Complete replacement of all suspension wear parts.
• New yellow zinc plating of all fastening materials in the area of the suspension and engine, transmission, carburetors, etc.
• Partial rechroming of trim, bumpers, and window frames.
• Cleaning and partial refurbishment of the interior.
• Inspection, cleaning, repair, and new seals for the automatic transmission.
• Engine cleaning and complete gasket replacement.
• Ultrasonic cleaning of carburetors, replacement of worn shafts, cleaning, reassembly, and readjustment.
• Repair of the heat exchanger.
• Cosmetic refurbishment of the radiator, master brake cylinder, air filter, heating elements, etc.
• Complete new brake lines in copper – KUNIFER.
• Final assembly – see point 1.

The history of the car can be fully documented through maintenance invoices, repair invoices, TÜV reports, old vehicle documents, etc. The car is located in Bergisch Gladbach, is registered with historic plates, and can be viewed at any time.
