Silver Wraith - Coupe de Ville / Longwheelbase / 1950 / rarity

** The chassis of this Silver Wraith was delivered by Rolls Royce to coach builder Franay in Paris in 1950. Franay was the main coachbuilder for the Silver Wraith outside of England, tasked with catering to royalty, maharajahs and aristocracy. From RR Silver Wraith he built only 10 units, 6 pieces short wheelbase and 4 pieces long wheelbase in long. Using the Longwheelbase (LWHD), he built 3 Sedanca de Ville (for Aristotle Onassis, Prince Tallal Al Saoud, Prince Saad of Arabia) and a Limousine de Ville.**
** This vehicle is the LWHD 81 for Prince Tallal Al Saoud, built in 1950 and featured as a star exhibit at the 1950 Paris Motor Show. The vehicle later passed into the fleet of King Farouk of Egypt.**
** The vehicle was equipped with the kneeling Emily - this was supposed to symbolize the subservience of women in the Arab world - it has a retractable partition to the rear, 2 fold-out additional seats, 2 fold-out tables and a perch rak in the rear, bodyguard grab handles on the left and right on the outside B-pillar (the standing boards of the body guards had to be removed due to Austrian approval), an integrated luggage rack, the vehicle is left-hand drive.**
** The vehicle underwent a complete restoration (frame-off) including engine and gearbox (replacement gearbox by Jack Barcley). Decorative wood parts and fabrics on the inside were supplemented and renewed and the wooden parts were all varnished in a multi-layer process with a clear high-gloss finish, the entire upholstery was prepared and the leather renewed. All chrome parts have been re-chromed, except Emily and radiator grille, all sealing rubbers and windows have been completely renewed. The electrical system was completely renewed including new cables. Original radio was converted to VHF. All technical parts that no longer corresponded were replaced, Nirosta exhaust system, new cooler built,**
