Description

**History - **This 1973 MGB Roadster, chassis number G-HN5/312281-G, was built between March 15 and 16, 1973, and initially registered in the Gloucester area of the UK. It had three owners until July 1982, when it was taken off the road for refurbishment and dry-stored for nearly 30 years. In 2017, the fourth owner embarked on a comprehensive restoration, completing it in late 2019. The car was then sold to an English gentleman living in Germany, who registered it as a historical vehicle in February 2020. A Heritage Certificate confirms the car's original factory specifications, enhancing its appeal to MG enthusiasts. This well-restored MGB is both a collectible and a driver-friendly classic.

**Exterior - **Finished in the rare and striking Bronze Yellow, this MGB underwent a frame-off restoration from 2017 to 2019. The car's body was thoroughly cleaned, revealing its excellent condition. The chassis was undercoated, stone-chipped, undercoated again, and then painted to match the vehicle color. New front and rear wings, door skins, and sills were installed. Although the restoration is now considered older, the car still presents beautifully. The chrome and brightwork are in superb condition, and a new blue PVC soft-top complements the interior. When the roof is down, a blue half-tonneau cover completes the look, with an additional full tonneau in black included.

**Interior - **The interior received a complete overhaul, featuring new blue PVC seat covers, matching carpets, and new door cards. The seats and head restraints, equipped with seat belt tensioners, were fully refurbished. The dashboard was stripped, undercoated, and top-coated with crinkle paint, and all gauges were overhauled and fitted with new seals. The boot area was also updated with new matching blue carpets and a spare wheel cover. A battery master switch is conveniently located behind the driver’s seat, and an accessory fire extinguisher is installed in the passenger footwell.

**Engine & Transmission **- In May 1982, with the car having covered 85,578 miles, it was fitted with a Gold Seal engine, which had only 10,000 miles on it (invoice included in the car file). This engine has since been completely overhauled, including a new clutch, master cylinder, pipes, and slave cylinder. The fuel system was entirely renewed with a new tank, pump, pipes, and carburetor kit. The cooling system was upgraded with a new water pump, high-flow radiator, hoses, clips, and a thermostatically controlled cooling fan. The heater matrix was also refurbished. Additional updates include a conversion to twin 12-volt batteries and a sports stainless steel exhaust system, which produces an excellent sound.

**Wheels, Tyres & Brakes - **During the restoration, the factory Rostyle wheels were replaced with steel wire wheels, including the spare, which enhance the car's appearance. These wheels are currently fitted with chrome winged nuts, though a set of non-winged nuts is also provided. The car rides on five new Falcon 165/80R14 tyres. The restoration also included a complete brake system rebuild, featuring new shoes, cylinders, pads, discs, master cylinder, and calipers.
