Description

"Sport Leicht." This is what SL stands for in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, and these robust and elegant Grand Touring machines have one of the most recognizable model names in sports cars. The 107 series was built from 1971 to 1989 and consisted of the R107 and C107 (roadster and coupe, respectively). Over 300,000 units rolled out of the factory in Sindelfingen, southern Germany, making it undeniably one of the most recognizable SL models on the market. Most were sold in the USA, which was Mercedes' main focus at the time. Over the last 5-6 years, the 107 series has exploded in value, transitioning from an affordable sports car to a significant asset in the classic car club.

This 560 SL rolled out of the factory in November 1987 and was later exported to the USA. The 560 designation refers to the largest engine ever offered in the 107 series, a 5.5-liter V8 with nearly 230 horsepower. It is finished in stylish Midnight Blue Metallic (color code 901) over a brown leather interior, a blue soft top, and is equipped with 15" "Gullideckel" wheels. Simply a gorgeous car!

The 560 SL spent its first years in sunny California and was exported to Belgium in 1995. The car has been converted to European specifications, with lights and bumpers. It clearly shows signs of being enthusiast-owned, as the paint is nice and neat, the chrome is clear and shiny, the underbody is healthy, and the interior is a luxurious and inviting place to be. The sound from the potent 5.5-liter V8 is smooth and without any unwanted noise, and the 8 cylinders work in perfect harmony for the ears and driving experience. It simply exudes quality in a true Mercedes manner.

An excellent example of a future legend. Prices for the 107 series are still steadily rising, and for many, the 560 SL is the perfect investment. One of the most stylish and satisfying car investments you can make at the moment.
