Restoration, condition and quality
It is no secret our classic Mercedes-Benz' arrive rusty and sometimes even damaged at our manufactory. Our team puts its heart and soul into bringing the classics back to life. In just a few months, the original Mercedes-Benz W 111 base vehicle will be completely restored to the highest standard. We follow the philosophy of a so called "frame off restoration" - this means that each vehicle is completely disassembled, overworked and finally reassembled again. The result is a perfect classic Mercedes-Benz, technically and visually in mint condition.
___________
History Mercedes-Benz 280 SE Cabriolet
The Mercedes-Benz W111 is a series of luxury cars produced by the German automaker Mercedes-Benz from 1959 to 1971. It was part of the Mercedes-Benz "Fintail" series due to its distinctive rear fender design. The W111 series is commonly referred to as the "Heckflosse" in German, which translates to "fintail" in English.
The 280 SE Cabriolet featured sleek and graceful lines, contributing to its classic appearance. Chrome trima were strategically applied to highlight the car's contours, emphasizing its luxurious character. The front grille was designed with the iconic Mercedes-Benz star and horizontal slats, giving it a recognizable presence. The convertible top added an element of exclusivity and could be opened or closed to enjoy open-air driving.
The interior was adorned with high-quality materials, including wood veneers, rich leather upholstery, and plush carpeting. The SE's dashboard was designed with a clear layout, featuring analog instruments, chrome instrument, and luxurious finishes. The cabin offered comfortable seating for both driver and passengers. The seats were often generously padded and upholstered in premium leather. Extensive use of wood trim adorned the dashboard, door panels, and center console, adding to the luxurious ambiance. Every element was meticulously crafted.
The Mercedes-Benz W111 series holds a special place in automotive history for its unique design, the safety innovations, and huge contributions to the luxury car segment. The W111 series is still admired and collected by enthusiasts around the world.
