Description

MASERATI A6GCS SINGLE LIGHTHOUSE YEAR 1949.

CHASSIS NO. 2011

The abbreviation A6GCS stands for “A” Alfieri (Alfieri Maserati, founder of the company of the same name), “6” for 6 cylinders, “G” for cast iron, the material of the crankcase, “C” for racing and “S” for sport.

Fifteen examples were produced from 1947 to 1953.

The engine's displacement was 1978.7 cubic centimeters and delivered 130hp at 6000 rpm.

The first owner, Sonio Coletti Perruca, bought the car directly from the factory, with which he participated in 1950 in the Mille Miglia, which, however, he did not complete due to an accident (documentation exists).

Later Perruca participated in other races, won the Tour of Umbria and came first in his category in the Tour of Tuscany.

In the 1970s the car was purchased by our family and participated in the year 1986 in the Mille Miglia Storica and the Dolomites Gold Cup.

The car is perfectly preserved and in working order.
