Description

This Series 2 Fulvia Coupe came to us from France in a bit of a sorry state…although solid and rust free, it was a non-runner with various engine bits removed and stored in the boot, no brake pedal, damaged roof lining, all sorts of electrical faults and some very tired looking paint…. But following a bit of TLC we’re delighted that our fully recommissioned Lancia can stand proud as a fitting tribute redolent of the Fulvia’s notable role in motorsport history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972. Mechanically, our recommissioning process identified major compression faults on 2 cylinders…head removed and refitted with all new gaskets and 2 faulty valves replaced with the others lapped-in. Poorly operating carburettors have been rebuilt and are now back to their best and much happier drawing from the refurbed and resealed fuel tank. A complete new exhaust has also been fitted. The braking system has had significant attention including all brakes being re-sealed and the master cylinder rebuilt, also with new seals etc. The steering has been overhauled – including a rebuild of the original wooden steering wheel - and a somewhat wayward suspension properly adjusted. New wheel bearings and rebuild of the handbrake mechanism have topped things off. The car now offers a lovely drive and stops and steers as it should. Inside, the original tatty headlining has been removed and replaced with a brand new custom made perforated vinyl fitting. The cracked rear screen has been replaced with new glass. New carpets have been fabricated and fitted in black and the original seats have been deep-cleaned and refurbished to look at least as good as new! The dash is retained original and is free of marks or damage. We’ve had the car de-bumpered and professionally painted – windows out, shuts, boot and under bonnet included – to give a lovely glossy black sporting appearance which is further enhanced with gold wheel trim, a set of yellow tinted Hella spot lights and some custom made Lancia decals. The result: a real head-turner that looks and drives great. With Lancia Fulvias becoming ever more popular, this lovely LHD not only retains all the best bits but offers an understated uniqueness that really sets it apart from the crowd. This car comes with a recently issued MOT certificate with no advisories and has been granted UK registration by the DVLA.
