Description

When was the last time you saw a really good JAGUAR XJ SERIES 1?

In 1968, the new JAGUAR XJ was presented to the world and was typically revolutionary for JAGUAR. A chassis with independent suspension with the rear axle of the legendary E-TYPE. Double springs and shock absorbers at the rear with internal disc brakes. This was just one reason why the XJ drove as you would expect from JAGUAR. Smooth, comfortable and dynamic at the same time. It also featured a new very squat body line and the distinctive new 4-lamp front end, large grille and low-slung bumper.

This early JAGUAR XJ left the factory in Coventry on 13 July 1970 in the beautiful colour Willow Green with beige leather and was delivered to British Leyland Switzerland. Fortunately, the Swiss JAGUAR dealers have always preserved the cavities and underbody of all newly delivered vehicles. This XJ Series 1 has also benefited greatly from this. The condition of the bodywork is very good, both top and bottom.

The first owner imported the XJ to the Netherlands, registered it there and enjoyed it until 2012. It was then sold to another enthusiast in the Netherlands, who carefully partially restored it. The XJ was repainted in the original factory delivery colour Willow Green and the technology was checked and repaired where necessary. The interior was left in its original colour. The last change of ownership to Germany took place in 2021. Since then, the XJ has been serviced by a workshop specialising in British classics. The old air conditioning system was removed, but is of course included for the new owner.

The XJ has been extensively test-driven by us and checked in our workshop.

Before you is a beautiful XJ SERIES 1 in a rare and original colour in very good condition. A dynamic and smooth saloon to drive and enjoy yourself.
