Description

1972 Jaguar E type series 3 Manual V12 Coupe.
Vin Number: 1S50921BW
Registration Number: KUH630K
Recipient of a meticulous 6 year restoration with over £170,000 spent in parts & labor including the cost of the donor car. A full photo book comes with the car documenting details of the restoration & also a massive file of bills for parts & services.
The car has had the gear box upgraded to a brand new Tremec 5 speed box making the car very relaxed at speed. Numerous modifications & upgrades have been done to make the car as every day driveable as possible. The front suspension has all been apart & poly bushed. Upgraded torsion bar springs are installed. The car has a high torque starter motor & the radiator is an enlarged high capacity item. Twin separately fused cooling fans are in situ & there is a manual overide switch allowing them to be turned on full time when required. The centre mounted ash tray now opens to reveal two USB charging points.
The car was totally stripped & every bit of corrosion cut out & removed. There are pictures of the finished floor plan with all new sills & floors etc prior to being painted. The colour is a Jaguar XJS colour in deep maroon with just a hint of pearlescence to it. It was painted in a total of eight coats including the base white & clear lacquer & the paint is to a very very high standard indeed looking absolutely flawless. Appearing maroon in shade, the colour comes to life & is much lighter looking in direct sunlight.
The exchange unit V12 engine is in itself a work of art with powder coated rocker covers & inlet manifolds giving the car a very very smart look under the bonnet. The car is running electronic ignition & the engine comes with a full dyno graph & compression test. The owner has gone to great lengths to get the car running right & it pulls away seamlessly in top gear from any speed. The brakes have also been stripped & rebuilt to as new like the rest of the car. The chrome pressed wheels have been re-chromed & shod with new tyres. An additional set of pressed wheels come with the car. Exterior brightwork such as the bumpers have also been re-chromed. An old style new radio is also fitted along with the requisite speakers etc. A centre console mounted switch puts the electric ariel up & down.
The interior is fawn leather along with matching headlining & maroon over mats to the floor. Burr walnut has been inserted to the centre of the dash & also along the top of the centre console. Modern inertia type seat belts were also installed as was a lot of sound deadening insulation to make the car as quiet as possible. A slightly smaller then stock motalita steering wheel completes the ensemble & is of course finger tip light in best Jaguar V12 fashion. The current 4th owner from new has covered some 3000 or so miles in the car & has won a variety of prizes at car shows he has attended. New projects beckon so the car is now to be sold.
Make no mistake: this car is like a brand new showroom fresh car & is being sold for a fraction of what has been invested in it. The whole idea of this car rather then sticking to originality was to build it as every day useable & modern as possible & without doubt that remit has been perfectly achieved. It is a very very impressive car.
