086 Schwarz 323i with amazing history file
The BMW E21 3-series is a beautifully styled car and has always been popular. When the 6-cylinder, fuel-injected 323i came to market it became a truly fast car.
Mr. Marcel Sur from Luxemburg city ordered his 323i in 086 Schwarz (Black) over a Grey/Beige interior at BMW dealer Arnold Kontz. His car was first registered on the 2nd of March 1979.

Mr. Marcel took great pride in ownership of his Black 323i and his car was serviced meticulous at the selling dealer - Kontz of Luxemburg. The amazing thing is: every single  service-invoice is present between 1979 and 1997. Dozens of invoices, with date and mileage documents it's servicing and mileage information. All scans are in the picture album.

The car than sat a number of years un-used and was then re-discovered by a French BMW enthusiast who completely brought it back to life. The servicing goes on, the mileage adds up when he started on the car in 2018. Many many invoices of parts and labour between 2018 and 2022 are present too. The best documented E21 we have encountered.
We have recently bought this car from the 2nd owner. The condition is amazing. A rust-free, perfectly straight body that wears fantastic paint in 086 Schwarz. The paint is mostly original and paint thickness measurement are among the pictures. The engine bay is all original, it wears original front wings, doors, bonnet and quarterpanels. A true survivor and largely original 323i in great condition. Also the trunk shows all original metal, all original paint, no rust and with the complete set of tools.

The interior of the car is very clean and all stock. Grey cloth on the original 1st series seats. Nice doorpanels, clean original carpets. The series one Dash is in great original condition and all switchgear is fresh and functional. The Motorsport steering is the icing on the cake as well as the period-correct Pioneer radio with 80's Pioneer speakers in the parcel shelf. Sounds great!

The car sits on a set of restored 15 genuine Alpina wheels with fresh tyres. The suspension has been upgraded with Eibach springs and Bilstein B8 shocks - invoices present. The 2,3 liter Straight six has been rebuilt and runs excellent. The K-Jetronic system works excellent and makes for an easy coldstart, warm start, idle and power delivery. The gearbox shifts easily and the car feels solid, planted and comfortable.
In our workshop we have gone through the car completely, even though a lot was invested in recent years.

We have replaced the engine oil, filters, sparkplugs and set the valve clearance. We've set up the Injection and Ignition as it should and makes sure it runs as should. A quick sum-up of what was invested in recent years:
