Bentley “Mayfair” special, year chassis 1950. Chassis (VIN) number B72HR, engine number B36H. Colour two-tone: dark green body combined with a black roof-top, black wings, and black wire wheels. Moss green leather interior and matching wool carpet. This impressive Bentley “Mayfair” was built by the renowned company of Racing Green Engineering (RGE) in Wales, UK. The Bentley is based on a fully restored and rebuilt 1953 Bentley MK VI chassis fitted with a fully rebuilt B81 6516 cc eight cylinder in-line engine.

The bodywork was masterfully hand-built by the skilled RGE craftsmen to the highest possible standards of perfection. The “Mayfair” two-door four-seater coupe body was hand built as it was done by the firm of Mayfair coachbuilders in the 1920s and 1930s, with an ash frame and aluminium panels. The closed bodywork offers perfect sound dampening and a wonderful luxury finish. A great and desirable option is the large sunroof which offers extra air and light on demand. The Bentley MK VI was named ‘The Silent Sports Car’ and it was the best on the market with a fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox, and hydraulic drum brakes around.

The top class RGE build adds a more powerful 5.7 litre straight eight engine, more modern ease of operation, better handling, more comfort, and great reliability combined with the most beautiful vintage looks! Since completion of the built, the car has driven 2000 kilometres in the hands of the first owner. This imposing machine was perfectly serviced and taken care of; the automobile is in BRAND NEW condition! This fine Bentley special is fitted with 21-inch wire wheels shod with Firestone tyres.
