In the mid-20th century, the union of engineering brilliance and visionary creativity gave rise to Austin-Healey. Their legacy in the world of sports cars not only reshaped automotive history, both on the road and on the world's racetracks, but also left an everlasting mark. The iconic 3000 series, with its triumphant presence at renowned venues like Sebring, Le Mans, and Bathurst, stands as a testament to their remarkable journey. By the late 1950s, Austin-Healey had already captured the affections of many, particularly in the American market. While the 1956 100/6 roadster garnered praise, its 2.6-liter engine fell short in comparison to its rivals. Responding to this challenge, the transformative 3000 made its debut in 1959. Though its external appearance remained largely unchanged, beneath the surface, the 3000 featured a robust engine of nearly 3 liters, complete with twin carburetors. This upgrade was further enhanced by the adoption of front disc brakes in place of drums.

Our stunning 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 MKII rolled off the assembly line in January 1962, destined for its first owner in Colorado. It was fitted with highly desirable extras, including wire wheels, an adjustable steering column, a laminated sun visor, and overdrive. However, this is far from a typical Healey. This is a much rarer model: the BT7 2+2 Roadster, which was produced for just over a year as an intermediate model before the introduction of the BJ7. The highlight of this model is the triple carburetors, making it the best-driving Healey par excellence. After spending its first glorious years in North America, the car underwent a full body-off restoration in 1996. Every aspect received the attention it deserved, from the bodywork to the suspension, engine, and gearbox. From the paint to the chrome work, every detail was meticulously restored. The result: a car that, to this day, not only looks stunning but also performs perfectly on the road. Following this restoration, the car was sold to a new Belgian owner later that same year. Since then, it has always remained in Belgium.

Today, this Austin-Healey remains a car that not only looks stunning but also performs flawlessly. Recently, it underwent meticulous preparation in our workshop to ensure many years of driving pleasure. A comprehensive major service was carried out, including the replacement of all oils, filters, and spark plugs. The brakes were disassembled and inspected, stabilizer bushings were replaced, and the cooling system received the necessary attention. Every detail was addressed to guarantee optimal performance and reliability. As a result, this car is in impeccable condition, requiring no additional expenses. It is perfectly suited to be your trusted companion for the upcoming rally season and beyond.

This classic roadster is not solely primed for leisurely Sunday excursions; it is equally prepared for exhilarating rally escapades or picturesque journeys through the enchanting landscapes of southern France. Now available at Rock 'N Roll Classics.
