Description

This unique Alfa Romeo is one of the 250 Giulia GTAm produced, delivered to the first and only owner in June 2022, after a very long wait, in Verde Montreal. Used for less than 3000kms, the car is delivered with all the equipment, tools, documents, materials, certificate which came with the car.

This is example number 17 of the very limited series (250 pieces) produced of GTAm, is different from the GTA in terms of aerodynamics (developed by Sauber F1 team) and the rear roll-cage which led to the elimination of the rear seats. The 540 HP roller over  the ground with the sequential gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel place the Giulia GTAm in the Olympus of instant classics, an icon whose name already recalls the glorious past of the model that victoriously preceded it between the 60s and 70s. Above you can find the Drag race between the old and the new GTAm that we ran with the friends of Motor1, of which you can also find the complete test by the video below.

The car could be seen by appointment in Florence. Further details on www.gulfblue.it

Some historical tips:

Following the success gained between 1965 and 1967 by the Alfa Romeo GTA and GTA Junior, lightened versions respectively of the 1.6 Giulia Sprint GT and 1.3 Giulia GT Junior, the Alfa Romeo racing division “Autodelta”, decided to use the the new 1750 GT Veloce as starting point to build the new Group 2 racing car to compete in the European Touring Car Championship. The GTAm was born: the shell used to build the GTAm was the American version of the 1750 GT Veloce, with a narrow head twin spark engine, Spica fuel injection, re-bored to be 2000cmc instead of the original 1,750.

With this car, the works driver Toine Hezemans won  the Drivers European Touring Car Championship in 1970 and Alfa won the overall Constructor Championship, in 1971 and 1972.

It is reckon that 19 cars were built directly by Autodelta and approximately 40 by private teams and workshops, buying the racing kit directly from Autodelta.
