In 1990, however, Toyota announced the imminent arrival of an all-new twin-cam 24-valve twin-turbo 2.5-litre engine (1JZ-GTE) to join the JZA70 line-up.

As well as the potent new engine, the car introduced a number of improvements to the vehicle's safety features, equipment, and interior and exterior styling.

The 2.5 twin-turbo 'Limited' was the top specification available, featuring a lift-out, Targa-style roof.

These cars, which we believe were only ever made for the Japanese marketplace, were made in relatively small numbers and are much sought-after by true connoisseurs of the marque and the model.

We understand that just one or two of these exceptionally rare cars are still registered for UK roads today.
