THE '73 911

The 911 was introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September 1963, meeting all the criteria set out by Dr Porsche. It resembled the previous model but was more powerful, smoother, quieter, and had more space for people and luggage than the 356. The 911 body was functional and breathtakingly attractive in an ageless design that has remained remarkably consistent and incredibly pure to the original design right up to the current 911 offerings.

By 1972, the year of the attractive and fully restored example presented here, the engine displacement had been increased to 2,341 cc (2.4 litres) which produced 140 hp in the 911 T version.

THIS '73 911

This, late, left-hand drive, 1973 911 2.4-litre 'T' was initially delivered to Belgium and appears to be in lovely condition, both inside and out. It passed sometime abroad in England and France but came back to its heimat around 15 years ago. It's classically presented in Silver Metallic over a black interior.

According to its Porsche Certificate, the car is still a completely matching so both color, the engine and gearbox are original to this car. The car comes with a large binder of history dating back to 1996 and we can notice quite some work has gone into the car in recent years. The engine is equipped with Weber carburetors ensuring easy tuning of the engine. K&N filters are added for that lovely raspy intake sound. The car just received its major service.

When opening the door we are welcomed by a classic black interior that was nicely upgraded. The reproduction Recaro Sport Seats give amazing support during a spirited drive, the Momo steering wheel was installed to further enhance the thrill of driving and to offer more feedback from the front wheels. Carpets have been replaced in the past and are of course still in perfect condition. The rest is quite original with only minor signs of use and patina.

The car was ordered from the factory with some sporty options including rear anti roll bar and S equipment and bumpers.

Early 911s possess a certain purity of line, particularly in bright colors, a complete world away from the aerodynamic extravagances of the eighties and nineties, and in terms of style, it's the early cars that engender the most appreciative glances. A well set-up and maintained 911T, even with only 140bhp, when driven with an intelligent right foot will provide some of the most quintessentially rewarding driving experiences you have ever had, and will leave you with a serious grin on your face!

Currently the car has a Belgian registration and is sold on behalf of our client.
