The Mercedes W126 is perhaps the best engineered car, bar none. This Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC was first registered on the 16th of October 1985 and is therefore an early model from the beloved 2nd series. The 2nd series SEC has improved looks with covers over the sills and flat side cladding. This is a non-cat European 500 SEC and has the 245 horsepower version of the mightly M117 V8. Designed by the legendary Bruno Sacco who sadly died September this year. He thought the C126 was his best work and he owned one himself.

The car came to us from sunny Spain and the owner asked us to make the car road-worthy and go through the car. After some years of sitting un-used we have rebuilt the K-Jetronic fuel system, replaced the exhaust, had the wheels powdercoated, replaced the tires and much more. More on that below.

The body is nice and straight and shows good paint in its factory 702 Rauchsilber / Smoke silver color. Trim on and around the car shows in excellent quality and the car looks beautiful. The panels line up well. The W126 and also the Coupe models tend to rust in wetter climates. This very car is free of rust and has not been repaired. The jack points, front axle mounts and also the part under the rear window - all W126 weak points -  are solid in this solid Spanish example. The interior consists of black leather in remains in very good original condition. The typical seatbelt-butlers do work and is a beautiful 80's Mercedes option. The dashboards is free of cracks and the wood is in nice shape. The factory A/C has been converted to modern R134a gas and blows cold.

The engine-bay of the car is very original. Factory details and tags, the shining aluminium airfilter housing and a beautifully smooth running M117 245 horsepower V8. The engine has had a major service and is ready for the next years. We have replaced all filters and fluids. After years of sitting we have also had the K-Jetronic system rebuilt and fitted with 8 new injectors and new fuel pump, filters and hoses. New sparkplugs, ignition wires, battery, automatic transmission flush and much more.

The trunk of the car shows all original metal, the original never-used spare wheel with Michelin tire. Jack, with instruction-tag is present as well as the tool. The carpetting in the trunk is complete and clean. The 15 inch 'Gullideckel' wheels have been refinished and fitted with fresh Uniroyal tires.

We have spent countless hours and materials. An internal invoice coming at a total of €9500,- is present.
