2002 | Mercedes-Benz A 210 Evolution

In 1997, the automotive world looked to Stuttgart in disbelief when Mercedes-Benz presented the first version of the A-Class. I myself was deployed as a stand staff at the IAA in Frankfurt and spent the trade fair next to a volcano-red A-Class. So I sat in the front row and experienced how the public reacted to this automotive revolution with the star.

The engineers were far ahead of their time, they designed a vehicle with a sandwich floor and a short exterior length while at the same time having a large interior space and a high level of passive safety. Tested according to all the rules of the art and with the best methods of the world's leading company in terms of security, they had unfortunately overlooked a niche security test, the so-called moose test. The A-Class did not pass it and tipped over. This in turn led to an immediate stop to deliveries and improvements and the introduction of the ESP system as standard equipment for the first time in a compact vehicle.

The first version of the A-Class was available in many variants and engines. Our example represents the top: an A210 Evolution with 140 hp, AMG styling and designo upholstery in Exclusiv AMG grey leather. Other highlights include air conditioning and Parktronic and a low mileage of 126,000 kilometres. The beautiful 17" aluminium wheels and the red Evolution stripe on black paintwork make this A-Class an eye-catcher.

We are selling this vehicle, which comes from Switzerland and has a good maintenance history, on behalf of the owner.
