In 1971, the E-Type received a newly developed 5.3-liter (5343 cc) V12 engine with an output of 276 hp (203 kW) at 5850 rpm and a maximum torque of 412 Nm at 3600 rpm. Production of the E-Type ended in September 1974, but this was not announced until 1975. 15,508 units with a 3.8-liter engine, 41,734 with a 4.2-liter and 15,293 V12 models were built.
