Descripción

This 1978 Dodge Ramcharger has a 360cui (5.9L) small block engine with an A727 3-speed automatic transmission (4WD version). As an SUV, it has some great features. Starting with the all-wheel drive with 8 ¼ front & rear axles, air conditioning and disc brakes with brake booster, it also has power steering. The orange exterior paintwork and the brown interior really suit the 2-door Ramcharger. Both correspond to the factory delivery, so this is the original paint and also the original seat covers.

An absolutely brilliant feature, in our opinion, is the completely removable roof. A comfortable off-road vehicle with a convertible feel, so to speak. What nobody who has ever stood in front of it could believe is that the car is around 50 cm SHORTER than any Mopar B-Body (Charger, Coronet, SuperBee, Road Runner etc.). The resulting short wheelbase in combination with the power steering and fat brakes results in an extra maneuverable, agile vehicle that is much easier to drive than many typical SUVs, even in large indoor spaces. The overall dimensions are 4689 mm in length, 2000 mm in width (without mirrors) and 1850 mm in height. A disc brake system is fitted at the front and large 11-inch drum brakes at the rear.

We have now put the Ramcharger through its paces. It has received a complete mechanical and electrical inspection from us. We can also send these to interested parties on request. In the brake system, the brake calliper was dead, as were the two front brake callipers and some of the brake hoses were still original. The brake calliper has now been replaced in our specialist workshop, as have all the brake hoses, and we have replaced damaged steel brake lines with the rust-protected Kunifer brake line. The front brake callipers were also completely overhauled. We only didn't have to do anything to the rear drum brake, as everything there had already been replaced by the predecessor. Last but not least, new brake fluid was added and the brake system is now as fresh as if it had just rolled off the production line. We also installed a completely overhauled power steering gear and resealed the power steering pump. The automatic transmission was also sealed so that it no longer leaves red puddles.

The Ramcharger has now received full TÜV approval and the historic certificate for the H license plate, so all that remains is to register it and enjoy the summer.

If you like the car, you can come and have a look at it by appointment. The car is in our Moparshop in 59399 Olfen.
