“The best of Italy, Argentina and the USA”

Original 1975 De Tomaso Pantera GTS upgraded to FIA Gp4

Road registered in France, FIA HTP until 2033

Eligible for CER, Tour Auto, Modena 100 Ore and many more major events

The Pantera was designed by American-Dutch designer Tom Tjaarda and replaced the Mangusta. Unlike the Mangusta the Pantera’s chassis consists of a steel monocoque, the first time that De Tomaso used this construction.

After the Pantera had begun production, De Tomaso introduced a motorsport-oriented Group 4 version of the Pantera GTS.  British engineer and driver Mike Parkes who had previously developed racing cars for Ferrari was tasked with the development of the new car.

The announcement of the 911 beating Pantera Group 4, prompted Porsche to the development of the 911 RS and RSR and Porsche used all of its influence with the FIA to increase the minimum weight limit of the Pantera to 1250 kgs which still makes for a very competitive package.  A Pantera Group 4 is widely recognized as one of the best -if not THE best- handling Group 4 sportscar of its era.

The car on sale ticks all the boxes: Original GTS, French Road registration, FIA HTP and a new powerful engine connected to a correct ZF transaxle gearbox. It was last raced in the 2022 Modena 100Ore where it ran well until the engine developed a problem and the team decided not to take any risks and retire the car. Subsequently the engine was rebuilt, Dyno tested and the car performed well at 3 track days.
