Beschreibung

1934 Rolls Royce Phantom 2 open tourer by Hooper.
Chassis Number: 104SK
Registration Number: MSP-07375 (German)
Under Long Term ownership in Germany & now being sold by the estate of the late owner.
This amazing phantom was ordered new by H.H. The Maharani Gaekward of Baroda with a Kellner Landaulette body. Once completed it was displayed at the Paris motor show in 1934.
In 1935 the car passed to H.H. the Maharajah of Darbhanga. It was he who had the kellner body replaced with a more suitable Hooper open touring body number 7322 from his early Phantom 2 Chassis Number 3XJ. The paintwork was finished in his traditional colors: jade green and ivory white with light green leather; a colour scheme that it wears to this day. Subsequently the car passed to H.H. The Maharaja of Panna who got 104SK in the late 40's as a birthday present. He sold the car in 1969 to the managing director of KLM Airlines. Mr. Kielman in New York.
The late German owner acquired the car in 1993 & thus owned it for three decades. During that time it has been a regular sight at the RREC national rallies having been frequently driven across to attend the rallies. The car was maintined without regard to cost & is in beautiful running condition & well capable of serious long distance touring. It comes with a current FIVA pass detaiing its ownership.
This is a seriously imposing Maharaja's Phantom with twin Tiger hunting lamps installed for use by both driver & passenger. The mascot is that of a standing maharajah differntiating the car from more prosaic examples of the marque. It has won many prizes & is a wonderful throwback to the days of the Raj. The car is fitted with side screens providing protection from the elements for long distance drives & also a full length black hood. White wall tyres are fitted all round which suit the cars livery admirably.
We will be visiting the car in the near future to conduct a proper photographic shoot of the car. Viewings are by prior appointment north of Barvaria & should be arranged though Michael Kliebenstein. 0049 170 2043831
