1958 | Jaguar XK 150 FHC

This highly upgraded, fantastic driving Jaguar XK150 FHC has been owned by one of our local Pickering based customers since 2021. This is a UK Home Market RHD example that is ideal for regular use and long distance touring as it boasts an impressive, very expensive specification that hugely enhances the driving experience. With improved performance, reliability and comfort this isn’t a car for the purist, but for somebody looking for a sensibly modified and enhanced XK that’s ready to tour with confidence.

USP 164 was initially rebuilt back in 1989 by Classic Cars International having spent some time on the Isle of Wight. In 2009 the XK150 changed hands and was subject of extensive work by XK specialists Twyford Moors as its owner decided to modify the car and enhance performance. The engine was stripped, bored out and then prepared to fast road specification. Further to this, the XK was fitted with fitted with a five speed gearbox, electronic ignition, Kenlowe fan, Halogen bulbs, power steering and was very well maintained with new brake discs and pads, new coolant hoses, thermostat, new rocker gaskets, inlet gasket and manifold gaskets, engine mounts and new propshaft.

Between 2009 and 2015 the XK150 covered 3000 miles, and the next owner then continued to further enhance the car. In 2016 the XK was fitted with a new stainless steel exhaust system, new flywheel and clutch kit and various cosmetic improvements were carried out. A modern radio was discreetly fitted behind a period speaker grill and more comfortable, reclining XJ styled seats fitted - original seats are still with the car. A further 3000 miles were covered to 2021 (6000 miles since 2009) when the XK came into the hands of our long term, valued regular customer.

Since 2021 the XK150 has been part of a large collection and has covered over 500 faultless miles. The XK was driven over to us from nearby Pickering and we can report on an outstanding road test. The quick, very fit engine offers exceptional performance, the five speed gearbox is a delight to use and with power steering and the various upgrades, the car is effortless to drive, but also fantastic fun. USP 164 presents very well, the bodywork is in excellent order, the bodyshell and panel work very impressive and the car is finished in a gleaming, sharp Metallic Green and does stand out as an exceptionally good looking car. The interior is beautifully finished, carpets, wood dash trim, headlining, doors cards and leather all excellent, and the original seats can be re-fitted if preferred. The underside is very clean with an excellent chassis, the engine bay and boot compartment lovely and clean. Overall, a beautiful, striking looking car that is equally as impressive on the road.
