1979 | Renault R 16 TX

The R16 TX, the top-of-the-range version of the basic R16, was introduced in 1974 and offered a large number of mechanical upgrades and additional equipment. Launched on 7 January 1979, our model has a non-guaranteed mileage of 35,400 kilometres. In its TX version, our model is in perfect condition thanks to a complete restoration carried out by us, involving the bodywork, chassis, passenger compartment, engine and running gear. ENGINE AND GEARBOX

With 93 horsepower provided by its 4-cylinder 1647 cc engine with automatic choke, a mechanical overhaul was carried out by our usual mechanic for an amount in excess of 4500 euros in October 2023 concerning the engine and gearbox, braking and running gear. Please contact us for invoices.

EXTERIOR

The bodywork has been repainted in its original Seaweed Green colour (code 977), giving it a like-new appearance. The exterior has also undergone a number of changes, including a grille with four separate headlamps, new wheels (also refurbished), a chrome rear spoiler and a heated rear window. The chrome is in good condition. The underbody is in perfect condition, with sheet metal replaced and grafting carried out by our body and sheet metal specialist, who also applied a rustproofing treatment to the entire chassis.

INTERIOR

The TX version offers a host of additional features for the cabin, including central door locking, seat belts with retractors and, above all, a five-speed gearbox with the famous gear lever located behind the steering wheel. The interior has been completely reworked, with new light brown upholstery. The carpets are also new and the plastics have been serviced. All the instrumentation is in working order.

CONSUMABLES

The Kumho tyres (size 165/70R14 81T front and rear inner tube) are new, as are the brakes, which have been completely overhauled with new discs, pads, hoses, master cylinder and brake fluid.
