History

The Porsche 924 made its debut in 1976. Designed by Dutch designer Haam Lagaay, a member of Porsche's design team, this 2+2 coupé was conceived to be practical and agile. Equipped with rear-wheel drive in a transaxle layout and a Volkswagen-derived 2.0-litre engine, its power may have seemed modest by Porsche standards, but it proved to be the German manufacturer's perfect entry-level car at a time of great need. Right from the start, the 924 was a huge success, with over 25,000 units sold already in its second year of production. The car was quickly developed: first with a five-speed manual gearbox, followed by a three-speed automatic option.

In 1979 came the real evolution with the 924 Turbo. With the adoption of a KKK turbocharger and a modified cylinder head combined with a revised 2.0-litre crankcase, output reached 170 hp, approaching that of the much more expensive 911 SC. This version represented a big step forward in the range, laying the foundations for the development of the later 924 Carrera GT, a model homologated for competition and produced in only 250 units.

The example offered here is a 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo with 121,000 km, finished in elegant Sienna Red Metallic with a black fabric interior. A car with a beautiful colour combination, maintained in its original state, with very few signs of time, both in the interior and the bodywork.

This is an Italian car, which has had only three owners and has always received the correct maintenance, as shown by the complete service books with coupons carried out at official Porsche centres. It has always been serviced regularly and is in excellent mechanical condition. It has no oil or fluid leaks from the engine or gearbox.

Storia 

La Porsche 924 fece il suo debutto nel 1976. Progettata dal designer olandese Haam Lagaay, membro del team di design Porsche, questa coupé 2+2 fu concepita per essere pratica e agile. Dotata di trazione posteriore con schema transaxle e di un motore 2.0 litri di derivazione Volkswagen, la potenza poteva sembrare modesta secondo gli standard Porsche, ma si rivelò la perfetta entry-level della casa tedesca in un periodo di grande necessità. Fin dall'inizio la 924 fu un enorme successo, con oltre 25.000 unità vendute già nel secondo anno di produzione. La vettura fu rapidamente sviluppata: dapprima con un cambio manuale a cinque marce, seguito da un'opzione automatica a tre marce.

Nel 1979 arrivò la vera evoluzione con la 924 Turbo. Grazie all’adozione di un turbocompressore KKK e una testata modificata abbinata a un basamento rivisto del 2.0 litri, la potenza raggiunse i 170 CV, avvicinandosi a quella della ben più costosa 911 SC. Questa versione rappresentò un grande passo avanti nella gamma, gettando le basi per lo sviluppo della successiva 924 Carrera GT, un modello omologato per le competizioni e prodotto in soli 250 esemplari.

L'esemplare qui proposto è una Porsche 924 Turbo del 1982, con 121.000 km, rifinita nell’elegante Sienna Red Metallic con interni in tessuto nero. Una vettura con una bellissima combinazione di colori, mantenuta nel suo stato originale, con pochissimi segni del tempo, sia negli interni che nella carrozzeria.

Si tratta di una vettura italiana, che ha avuto soltanto tre proprietari e ha sempre ricevuto la corretta manutenzione, come dimostrano i book service completi con tagliandi eseguiti presso centri Porsche ufficiali. Ha sempre seguito interventi di manutenzione regolari e si presenta in ottime condizioni meccaniche. Non presenta perdite di olio o liquidi dal motore o dal cambio.
