Made as a rival for BMW successful and enduring 3 series, the W201 shape model was quoted to be massively over-engineered by Mercedes. Whilst that cost the company hundreds of millions back in the 1980s to research, test and manufacture, the result is cars that have outlasted others from the same era at a higher rate. From a time where the built-in obsolescence of products was much less of a front of mind thought from companies forced to operate of cost saving measures, the 190e is a great example of how to build a solid vehicle.

​This could be a great entry into classic car ownership with something that has a build quality to rival modern day offerings at a fraction of the price, but no discount on the driving experience. They say these cars are one classic you could daily drive and with some minor TLC and a tune up, we don’t see why this couldn’t offer the same.
