Midnight Blue 3.0 CSi

This is a factory BMW 3.0 CSi that was built on the 15th of December 1972 and finished in 040 Nachtblau Metallic. Delivered to BMW of Italy on the 20th of December '72. The car found it's way to the Cannes area of France in the late 90's and we've recently bought it from the last caring owner in sunny Spain.

A factory, Matching numbers BMW 3.0 CSi in perhaps the most sought after color: Nachtblau. Combined with timeless beautiful lines accentuated in chrome trim and a black leather interior a beautiful Grand Tourer. This is a very sound, solid and original example. A never-welded example with original floors, sills and a very straight body. Excellent panelgaps, excellent paint, beautiful chrome. The undercarriage / floors truly stands out: showing factory primer on the floors and spare wheel housing - something very rare and says a lot about the car's condition. We've extensively cleaned the floors and sealed it with a transparent coating from TimeMax.

The car drives amazing. Why? First of all a very tight body that hasn't seen major repairs. Furthermore 4 Bilstein shocks, 4 sport springs and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres on 16 inch Alpina style Maxilite wheels. To slow the car down we've mounted 4 rebuilt brake calipers, nicely zinc-plated as per factory. New brakepads front + back, new brake hoses and new brake fluid.

Upon testing we've diagnosed the engine wasn't running as should. We've rebuilt the engine and the parts on and around it - runs excellent now! A rebuilt cylinderhead, new pistonrings, all new bearings, chain, guides. The ignition system replaced with new sparkplugs, set of wires, cap, rotor, points and condensator. The full set of coolant hoses was replaced along with all clamps, waterpump and thermostat. The injection system was gone through too: a rebuilt D-Jetronic vacuum meter, all new fuel hoses, filter, and cleaned & tested injectors. The result is a 3.0 CSi that starts, idles great and makes good power.

To give an idea of the extent of properly sorting an E9, we've gone through the driveline even more. The transmission has been rebuilt and fitted with a new guibo and rebuilt shifter mechanism. The propshaft has been sent away for rebuild and the differential mount bushing was replaced. It has new suspension bushings in the front, a new center tierod and alignment done. A fresh stainless steel exhaust system gives a great sound.

The paint is beautiful with a deep shine, very straight, no tapemarks and without usermarks. A nice and solid body with the correct fold in the sides. On and around the body it shows beautiful chrome accents. The chrome-trim around the car presents nice as well as the trim around the windows. Nice and clear headlights in black grilles. The tailights are in very good condition. The chrome bumpers present in excellent condition. The grilles on the bonnet and fenders are brand new.

The interior presents beautiful. A beautiful wooden Nardi steering wheel, nicely reupholstered Black leather seats and a new set of carpets. Doorpanels, dashboard and center console are in excellent original condition. The Blaupunkt FM radio plays nicely, we've installed a new set of automatic seatbelts and the wood is in great condition.

The trunk was nicely reupholstered in the correct grey vinyl. The set of tools is complete as well as the spare wheel, jack and tool.

The car drives amazing. It feels very tight, brakes and handles great. The engine runs great and is very fast.

We have completely gone through this car, from A to Z - 100% Sorted.
Matching numbers, factory CSi, factory Nachtblau and a rebuilt Drivetrain
