Beschreibung

Hilton & Moss are pleased to offer a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine, UK delivered BN7 Open Two-Seater Healey, 3000 MK1.

The 3000 Series Healey, built from 1959 to 1967, followed the successful 100-6 model, featuring a larger 3-litre straight-six engine and front disc brakes.

During production of the 3000 Mk1 (1959-1961) just 2,825 BN7 open two-seaters were built, with only 157 cars being right hand drive home market examples, of which this car is one.

Dispatched on September 10th, 1959 by Barretts Limited in Canterbury, this Healey started life in ‘Healey Blue’ with a matching blue interior trim and hood.

In more recent times this all aluminium bodied ‘Big Healey’ is now a purposeful racing car, becoming well known in Healey circles. The car has since been repainted in the striking 'Healey Red' and now features a vast number of upgrades and improvements to both the engine and chassis including:

- Full aluminium ‘Works Style’ body with side louvres and motorsport front grille and ducting
- Fast-road engine specification with triple Weber 45DCOE carbs, aluminium Dennis Welch cylinder head and forged Omega pistons
- Rolling road tuned to 206bhp / 219 lb.ft torque
- Centre change straight-cut gearbox with competition overdrive and Sebring close ratio gears
- 4.3:1 TranX Limited Slip rear differential
- Sparco Sprint bucket seat
- Willams 4-point racing harness
- Half roll cage
- Racing side exit exhaust
- Knock-off Minilite wheels (Full set of 5)
- Racing fuel cell
- Rare factory two-seater BN7 hardtop

The culmination of these works make for a highly competitive car in the right hands, with the current owner proving so over her career behind the wheel of this Healey. Highlights of which include:

- Being the first woman to win the Big Healey Championship – 2014
- Winner of British Woman’s Racing Drivers Club (BWRDC) Speed Championship – 2016
- 32 career podiums – 1st x16, 2nd x8, 3rd x8
- Seven top 4 Championship placings – One 1st Place, two 2nd placings, two 3rd placings and two 4th placings

The car is complimented with a detailed history file documenting the upgrades and work completed over the years, as well as an extensive spares package being available, including what is believed to be the original engine block and cylinder head.

Fully inspected and prepared by the expert team at Hilton & Moss, this is your opportunity to acquire not just a well-known competitively proven racing Healey, but one of the rarest Healey 3000s built. Hilton & Moss can also offer support packages for anyone needing track support, transportation, vehicle setup or off-season storage.

Available now at for immediate viewing and demonstration at our Hertfordshire showrooms.
