Description
Restoration project from A to Z, developed by the Maria Riding Company customization workshop in Portugal. 100% original motorcycle completely in line with the model of its time.
The process was based on a complete disassembly of the motorcycle down to the last screw—both the frame and the engine. The original engine was in excellent condition, which allowed for an engine restoration that maintained its integrity, offering great quality and reliability for its age. There’s no play or other typical issues found in period motorcycles.
Pistons, piston rings, valves, timing chains, bearings, gaskets, and seats are all brand new and overhauled. The gearbox has been refurbished. The engine is like new. The engine block was painted in the original color and the covers were polished without varnish to facilitate better future maintenance.
The carburetors were completely rebuilt, ultrasonically cleaned, and overhauled to perform and look like new, both mechanically and aesthetically.
The wheels were entirely dismantled and reassembled with new, original rims, and instead of chrome-plated iron spokes, we opted for stainless steel for greater durability and quality. The hubs were polished and fitted with new bearings, and the tires are, of course, new.
Tachometers, in keeping with the year, were completely restored in the Netherlands by the sole specialist in this type of part. They are entirely new and correspond to the 1976 model.
The paintwork was done using the original Honda pigment from the era, sourced from the USA, to maintain the typical original look of 1970s motorcycles. Original emblems from Japan appear on both the fuel tank and the side covers. Instead of using stickers that would later be varnished, we chose direct painting for a superior final quality.
The front suspensions have been completely overhauled and repaired as new.
Brake calipers and the rear drum system were overhauled and restored.
We decided to keep the original front brake master cylinder despite some wear on the exterior color, as it was completely restored internally. Since this part is now only available from the aftermarket, we chose to retain the original.
Throughout the rest of the motorcycle, all parts were meticulously inspected and verified to be consistent with the 1976 model. New parts include: the seat, switches, headlight bracket, mirrors, turn signals, front headlight, horn, grips, levers, throttle, cables, brake pads and shims, rear headlight, suspension bellows, rear suspensions, front and rear fenders, all general rubber components, mudguards, and the fuel cap.
All parts are original Honda, and no aftermarket components were used.
We decided not to use the original screws in 90% of the assembly and replaced them with stainless steel ones for better durability.
The original exhaust and headers were in very good condition. There are two small dents on one of the tips, but considering they are original and quite rare, we opted to keep them.
The original electrical wiring is completely new and has been thoroughly inspected and overhauled to ensure perfect operation. The motorcycle has no electrical updates and remains entirely original.
It runs perfectly like a new motorcycle. It picks up and rides flawlessly!
There’s not much more to say—the photos speak for themselves!
If you wish, you can schedule an appointment to see it live.
Ideal for collectors and investors.
