About this car:
A very special T26 by Worblaufen. Only three are believed to be produced. Probably only two are left. Built in 1947, delivered in Switserland, where it stayed for decades. Bought by the last owner in 1996 who brought it to one of the best classic car restorers of the Netherlands for an exceptional restoration. He kept the car till to now. After the restoration the car took part in several prestigious events, like the Pebble Beach concours.

Talbot-Lago T26 in general:
You have special, then very special and above that you have the Talbot Lago T26 by Carrosserie Worblaufen, F. Ramseier & Co., one of the most highly regarded body builders in Switzerland. This coachbuilder built cars based on Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Isotta Fraschini and therefore also Talbot Lago. A very exclusive 'vehicle', of which only three were built.
Now the Talbot Lago T26 is already a very special vehicle with around 750 units built, in 1947 only 155 were built. With this bodywork it is an almost unique appearance with three pieces.
The 'normal' T26 was presented in 1946 and was therefore the first post-war model. Under the hood a beautiful six-cylinder, 4.5 liters in size, straight from the Grand Prix car of that time, although the power source was a bit stronger with 280 hp. The spacious engine had approximately 190 hp and was linked to a Wilson preselector gearbox with four gears. Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes and knock-off wire wheels are just some of the special features of the T26. The T26 was one of the fastest luxury cars on sale at the time.
In every respect, this Talbot Lago T26 Record by Worblaufen was the absolute top of what was for sale at the time. No less than 1600 hours went into the construction of one Worblaufen T26 and that is without the chassis, engine and other things that were 'taken over' from the normal T26 Record.

This T26 was delivered new in 1947 to its first owner in Zurich, a doctor. He enjoyed his special convertible for decades, until the exclusive car went to its second owner in the 1960s. The Talbot Lago only left Switzerland in 2003. It is during that period that the car is restored to unprecedented class by an exceptionally good restorer from the Netherlands. So good in fact that a few years later the car took part in the prestigious Pebble Beach competition.
The car comes with a document with a very detailed history, including about 100 restoration photos, but also photos from earlier times.

Some cars are especially beautiful from a certain angle, but that does not apply to this Talbot Lago. Viewed from every angle, the car is elegant, stylish and beautifully contoured. Simply art on wheels. And then you have to consider that the car is in reality an even greater beauty than in the photos. With its beautiful teardrop-shaped fenders, a beautiful grille with a high-placed Talbot Lago emblem. Furthermore, of course, a beautiful 'split window' and a very nice line of the side windows.

Worblaufen has put a lot of work into the interior. Beautiful leather, beautiful carpets and of course a beautiful design of the dashboard. The centrally located meters and the dashboard, partly finished in body color, look truly fantastic. Absolutely everything you see is in excellent condition, and this also applies to the parts you do not see.

A unique car that will not only bring an unprecedented amount of pleasure while driving but also while looking at all the beautiful parts, the beautiful line and beautiful finish.
