  • Comprehensively restored to an impeccable standard throughout

  • Exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail

  • Arguably one of the finest examples available on the market today

  • A rare and highly desirable addition to any prestigious collection

A truly rare and significant example, this Silver Cloud II Long Wheelbase is one of just 98 left-hand drive division cars in this body design (Chassis No. 858), built by Park Ward & Co. With extensive provenance, bespoke factory options, and a meticulous restoration, this car represents a remarkable piece of Rolls-Royce history.

Finished in timeless Shell Grey metallic, the exterior is perfectly complemented by a luxurious interior featuring Swithland Slate Grey hides, Grey Wilton carpets, and Royal Blue lambswool over-rugs. Hand-painted coachlines and matching wheel embellishments complete the elegant and stately presentation.

Originally delivered new to Mr. Ray Bass of Mississippi, owner of the Bass Pecan Company, this Silver Cloud II was tailored to his specifications with an array of factory-fitted options, including:

  • Factory air conditioning (‘refrigeration’)

  • Dunlop white-sided tyres

  • Picnic tables

  • Electric windows

  • Electric Delco aerial

  • Plain Sundym glass

  • Power-assisted steering

The car was dispatched from Park Ward & Co. in Willesden on 4th February 1962 and shipped via the Pacific Envoy to the United States. Its documented journey from Salford (Manchester) Shed 9 to its new home reflects the care and precision in its delivery process.

In recent years, this car has undergone significant restoration, including a return to its Shell Grey finish, meticulously replacing its original colour of Rolls-Royce Midnight Blue. The cabin, originally VM3244 light blue, has been reimagined with painstaking attention to detail. The burr walnut trim now features a mirror-like finish, and all brightwork, including the rare over-riders, is flawless.

To ensure it is road-ready, the car has been mechanically refreshed, with recent work including:

  • Full brake service: new master cylinder, two wheel slave cylinders, and two front and rear wheel cylinders

  • Fuel system flushed, fuel pump stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, and rebuilt

  • Carburettors removed, cleaned, rebuilt with new floats, and tuned

  • All filters replaced and new spark plugs installed

This 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II LWB, with its factory division and bespoke features, is a truly rare opportunity for the discerning collector. Standing proudly as one of the finest examples of its kind, it is a testament to Rolls-Royce’s enduring legacy of luxury and craftsmanship.
