Description

1927 Rolls Royce 20hp Barker Dr's Coupe
Chassis number: GZK39
Registration Number: TI9936 Swiss
A simply immaculate little 20hp with very desirable Barker drop head Dr's coupe coachwork. Indeed so good is the coachwork that this car was used as a template for a rebody of a derelict chassis some 30 or so years ago.
This 20hp has been in long term Swiss ownership & is on Swiss registration plates but also has current UK plates. It has been looked after & maintained without regard to expense with what ever has needed doing, being done as & when required.
The car is finished in Maroon over black with the paintwork in excellent order. To the interior is lightly patinated dark red leather in perfect order along with red carpets. The roof is of black hide & erects or lowers easily with just one person.
This 20hp has a very original & untouched feel to it. Under the bonnet the car is immaculate with under trays in situ & corect mushrom style bakelite coil holder etc. It starts instantly & runs in silence with excellent performance. The engine had a rebuild around 2003 with new pistons being fitted etc for which bills are on file.
The spare wheel is to the rear of the car flanked either side by divers helmet style period lamps. The rear hatch folds open to revel a generously sized dickey seat where luggage may also be stored when in transit.
All in all a delightful car with very very pretty coachwork. It resided for a while in the 1960's with the science museum in London.
