Description

This very well-presented 3.6L example has arrived with us from a local businessman and customer of ours who’s family have enjoyed the Porsche sparingly for the last 4 years. EY04 GYE was supplied new on the 16th of July 2004 by the Porsche Centre of Colchester to a gentleman who kept the car in his family until 2021 with 2 registered keepers throughout that time. Currently displaying 48,500 warranted miles from new, the Porsche has lived a very sheltered life. Half of the mileage was covered in the first 3 years, with its first MOT being completed at 25,750 miles. Over the last 15 years, the Porsche has only covered an average of 700 miles per year while being cherished by its owners. Late last year, the car went in for some maintenance at a local Porsche specialist where it was checked over and any minor issues were put right. The locking guide on the fuel filler cap was replaced, the roof mechanism was repaired and calibrated, the cd changer was repaired, and the display for the heater control unit was replaced. Prior to this, in 2022, the Porsche received new ignition coils, had a full service carried out and the passenger window regulator replaced.

The Porsche 911 996 was officially the first water cooled 911 in the great history of the Porsches most famous model. Production of the fifth generation 911, the 996 ran from 1997 through to 2004 but with the high performance 996 continuing through to 2006. The 996 was a stiffer car and weighed less than its predecessor which in turn improved the handling and performance of this super German sportscar. In 2002 the 996 received a facelift and a larger 3.6L engine while retaining its flat 6-cylidner layout that had been a cornerstone of the 911 platform. The 3.6L engine was capable of 315bhp at its peak, and with the Carrera 2 being lighter than the Carrera 4, this model boasts a quicker 0-60 time and a higher top speed.

We collected this car up from the customers house and drove a super enjoyable 15-mile journey back to our showroom. EY04 GYE is a car that excels on the winding country roads, the handling offered is truly fantastic. The 6-speed manual transmission is a delight, it is smooth and precise, and the naturally aspirated engine sings a brilliant tune as you travel through the rev range. This 911 is a true driver's car and will make for an exceptional open top car for enjoying weekends away in.
