Description

1977 Porsche 911 2.7S Targa powered by the 2.7L Flat six producing 165 bhp

The Porsche 911, introduced in 1964, quickly established itself as an icon in the world of sports cars with its distinctive design and remarkable engineering. Over the years, it evolved through various iterations, each enhancing its performance and appeal. By the time the 1977 911 2.7S was released, the model had matured into a superbly balanced machine. It featured a powerful 2.7-liter flat-six engine that produced 165 horsepower, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 8.2 seconds. The 911 2.7S also boasted refined handling, thanks to its improved suspension and lightweight body, and classic aesthetics that were unmistakably Porsche, including the iconic round headlights and sloping rear end. This model embodied Porsche's relentless commitment to performance, style, and innovation, making it a standout choice for driving enthusiasts and collectors alike. Owning a piece of this history means embracing the legacy of a car that has captivated and thrilled drivers for over a decade, continuing to turn heads and win hearts wherever it goes.

The 911 2.7S Targa, which we are presenting here today, started its life in the dry and warm state of California in the United States, where she stayed until she was brought over to Europe in 2013. We know this because she comes with her California title and because her service book is mostly complete. She is currently owned by a belgian racing driver who has taken good care of her since 2016. But as they say, all good things come to an end and with little time to drive her, she has been let go.

Her exterior is finished in a sleek looking black paint with the black targa bar. Her black paint work matches the black and chrome Fuchs wheels very well and make a lasting impression on everyone that lays eyes on her. And her best part? That is for sure the removable Targa roof. The Targa adds an extra layer of excitement on top of any classic 911. Her black leather interior is fitted with original sport seats which hold you in place very well once you get onto the tight and twisty roads where this 911 truly feels at home.

Mechanically she is in all original and good condition. Her engine is a smooth running example with good oil pressure and a great sound. Mated to this 2.7L flat six engine is her smooth shifting 5 speed gearbox. Once you get the hang of her, every gearshift is a true pleasure and you will smile all down the road. Her brakes, suspension and all of her other mechanical parts have been assessed and are in good working order.
