A very special 1972 911 'Ölklappe,' which was kept in storage for several decades before being fully and meticulously restored with only original Porsche parts and entirely to factory specification. So, this silver-gray Porsche is a rarity.

The 911 you see here is a pristine 2.4 E from 1972. Connoisseurs will already know: it concerns the so-called 'ölklappe,' the variant with the external oil filler cap behind the passenger door. This cap disappeared as suddenly as it appeared because it was often confused with the fuel filler cap. Therefore, the 'ölklappe' was only produced in 1972.

In the mid-1980s, this car disappeared into a barn, only to emerge in 2014. Still in a completely original, untouched condition, the 911 surfaced out of the barn, even with the original Fuchs spare wheel under the front hood. The car then arrived in the Netherlands, and once the official Porsche documents confirmed the car was entirely original, including the original 15" Fuchs wheels and even the original optional Koni shock absorbers, and matches in terms of color and engine number, an extensive restoration began. Of course, the car was repainted in its original colour, colour number 925.
In early 2020, the car was completely finished and received its Dutch license plate.

Under the hood lies a beautiful 2.4-liter air-cooled 'flat six,' fed by Bosch mechanical injection. The matching numbers power plant was fully restored and overhauled, right down to the last screw, with the four-speed gearbox not being also receiving all due attention.

The interior of the E also deserves to be described as 'new.' Here, too, everything was exceptionally thoroughly addressed and renewed. It resulted in an interior that, like the rest, gives a good impression of what it was like in 1972 to pick up the car from the dealer when it was new.

We dare say that this 2.4 E is one of the best and most beautiful 911s. The technical restoration and exterior work make the car ready for decades of enjoyment. A 911 that is likely to strike the right chord with every Porsche enthusiast. The car comes with a complete book about its history and restoration, including photos from before the restoration and a lot of documentation about the 911 in general. We haven't often seen a restoration book like this!
