Description

In 1948, Porsche presented the new model 356 for the public, and the model thus became the first Porsche in mass production. The previous racing prototypes were built in aluminum, but the 356 got a self-supporting steel body. For cost reasons, the initial cars from the late 40’s shared many components with the VW type 1. Porsche continued to developed the models and during the lifetime of the 356, the vast majority of parts were improved and refined to such an extent, that there were actually very few components remaining from the older cousin in Wolfsburg.

The 356 C is the last development of the 356 line, shortly to be followed by the now famous successor 901/911 presented at the Frankfurt fair in August 1964 (initial production started 1965). Technically upgraded with discs brakes all around and here in the most powerful “SC” version, where Porsche got 95 HP out of the 1600 nimble and eager engine.

The blue SC presented here is truly a unique car. Not only is it quite exceptionally maintained. It’s also as original as you will ever find. The car was produced in October 1964 and exported to the official Swedish Porsche importer Scania Vabis. Driven in Sweden until 2005, when it came to Denmark with only 88,000 documented kilometers on the odometer. We have been familiar with the car since 2015 when we sold it first time. Based on the extensive documentation that comes with the car, we are convinced that the odometer reading of only 97090 km is genuine!

It has full matching numbers on both engine and gearbox, supported by official Porsche CoA. Color is the correct original Bali Blue (6412) with matching red cabin, still untouched and in an incredibly well preserved condition.

It is quite unusual to find such a unique car, almost 60 years old and still so well preserved. The car drives exceptionally well and is a true pleasure to enjoy. A real collector’s car for the enthusiast searching for the best.
