Description

This stunning, incredibly correct Peugeot 205 GTi has covered 68,000 miles from new and comes with a fantastic history file to include the original bill of sale, service books, handbooks, spare key with original Peugeot keyring, MOT’s and comprehensive invoice file. G377 GNP was supplied new on the 3rd August 1989 by Peugeot Talbot in Worcestershire, finished in Cherry Red for a total price of £6355.00. The supplying dealer carried out the 1000/1500 mile service on the 12th September 1989 and then a further eleven services between 1990 and 1995. From 1995 to 1998 Peugeot main dealers Regal Garage (Bromsgrove) Ltd took over maintenance with seven services in three years taking the mileage to 46753 miles by October 1998.

During the early 2000's these hot hatches were often in the hands of ‘boy racers' and many were modified, fitted with body kits and often not maintained properly. We are pleased to report this is one of the survivors, not only superbly kept and well maintained, but early paperwork and service books all retained showing the signs of having good ownership throughout its life. MOT records show very steady mileage throughout the 2000's but by 2022 with 67672 miles it was with a 205 specialist who had the car prepared for its recent owner in York. The 205 was treated to new Pirelli P1 Cinturato Verde tyres and £2000 of mechanical work to include a new clutch kit, timing belt kit and cover, rebuilt gearbox, new fuel neck hose, intake hose, starter motor, and front brake discs and pads. Leaks were dealt with by way of new sump plug, gearbox drive shaft seal, new rocker gasket and rear main Hockney seals. The 205 was also fully serviced, fitted with a period Blaupunkt Bremen stereo and new spare wheel cage bolt and clamp ahead of being handed over to its new owner.

Cosmetically the 205 was then prepared for shows, work included re-furbishing all five original alloy wheels with diamond cut centres and the external of the car treated to paint correction and full detailing to include ceramic coating. Brand new badges were then fitted and the interior then the focus, it was removed and all fabrics and seats were deep cleaned and the steering wheel and gear gaiter re-furbished. Since arriving in York the Peugeot has had occasional fine weather use on the local show scene. The car has been garaged and kept out of poor weather and has been beautifully detailed with a stunning engine bay, sharp, clean under arches and the whole car presents in beautiful condition as a meticulously owned, standard car that has clearly never been left to deteriorate like some many of these popular 80's hatchback's. The Peugeot has been maintained by a York garage at 67793 and 67971 miles and arrives with us in beautiful condition. This is a real gem, they are difficult to find like this and with its impressive early paperwork, original bill of sale and desirable factory sliding roof, it has everything a collector would want.
