9000 kilometer R129 SL

Wow, just 9753 kilometers on this amazing R129 300 SL-24. This 300SL-24 was first registered on the 18th of March 1993 and delivered through Mercedes dealership Antares S.p.A in Parma, northern Italy to Mr. Ciobani from Parma. Ordered in 744 Brilliant Silver over 271 Black leather. Furthermore:

Quite a few options on this glorious R129 SL. The condition today is hardly different than in 1993. A true collector car that was stored inside throughout its life. The 9700 kilometers and documented and genuine. The hood/bonnet has been repainted in the past (invisible, only measureable), the rest of the car is completely in its factory original paint. Beautiful supple leather, a softtop in great original condition and the factory hardtop is present ofcourse. So is the complete set of documentation, the wind deflector, car cover and numberplate mounting parts. 

As with very low-mileage Benzes of these age - the exhaust manifolds on this 3 liter M104 engine are still in their grey coating and didn't burn off. The engine bay show all original decals, clamps and (chalk) marks. The bumpers don't have any scuffs and all trim and high-gloss black parts are in amazing original condition. 

The leather is very supple and deep black. Steering wheel and gear lever in lovely soft and original leather. The woodtrim in high-gloss. Behind the black lid is the great 90's option, the onboard computer or 'Reiserechner' in German. 

In the trunk we find beautiful mats and coverings in near-new condition. Under that in the factory and never-mounted sparewheel with Dunlop tyre. The leaflet with mounting instructions is never taken off. The red cloth wrapper with tools is present and complete. So is the 'emergency' tool to install and remove the top if the automatic function isn't working - including instruction manual. 

A car with only 9700 kilometers from new obviously hasn't been serviced throughout its life. In this case it luckily was used every now and then. The upside: still working, running and driving great plus documentation is present. 

Ordered by Mr. Ciobani at Mercedes Antares. Delivery inspection by Antares was done on the 9th of April 1993. On the 28th of March 1994 it has a service at 1453 kilometers. Mr. Ciobani also received the warranty voucher as well as a voucher for free servicing up to 40.000 kilometers. The leaflets are still present, but obviously never used. Since 2013 the car was owned by the original owner's son: Luca. He had a major service done to be able to use he car again, €4300 euro's were spent and it received new Dunlop tyres, fluids and the mechanical top was put back into use with new fluid and cylinders. In 2021 it showed 7490 kilometers and service with fluids was done. In 2022 at 8600 kilometers further cylinders of the hydraulic roof have been replaced. Earlier this year we have sourced the vehicle showing 9700 kilometers. 


The undercarriage of the car is truly amazing. Absolutely rust-free and original. All factory coatings, emblems and decals.
