Description

The SLC, as the sports coupé was officially called, made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 1971, with the same exterior as the roadster right up to the windscreen. The flat roof stretches above the five-seater passenger compartment, leading into a huge, very sloping rear window that curves in two directions, which in turn dictates a comparatively long rear end. In the side view, the length is documented by the longer wheelbase, 2820 compared to 2460 millimetres, and also by the line of the side windows, which, as is usual in a Mercedes-Benz coupé, are fully retractable, without a disturbing B-pillar. The louvred side windows and the fluted rear lights were an idea by Pininfarina and were first seen on a concept car in 1967.

The SLC was offered from 1971 to 1981, initially only as the 350 SLC, then from 3/1973 as the 450 SLC, from 1974 as the 280 SLC, only in the last year from 8/80-7/81 as the 380 SLC, from 8/1977 as the 450 SLC 5.0 and also only in the last year as the 500 SLC.

From 1974 to 1981, 10666 units were built.

This car is in very good technical and optical condition and is ready for immediate use.

The vehicle receives a 143-point check and a Swissvax polish and sealant in our workshop before delivery.
