Mercedes-Benz introduced the 'new' Mercedes SL in 1971, which was also known as the R107. By the time the last R107 rolled off the assembly line in 1989, it had been in production for eighteen years, making it one of the longest-running model series ever made by Mercedes-Benz. In total, Mercedes built approximately 237,000 units, and this type of Mercedes is still a sought-after classic today. That is not without reason: you can feel the quality everywhere, and that was the starting point for Mercedes-Benz at the time. The SL was among the best that the German brand could produce. The SL, also known as 'Sport Leicht,' is nowadays an extremely versatile classic. With robust and powerful engines, it's agile enough for a wide range of journeys, and with its high-quality features, including the suspension, it's a very comfortable car.

The example we have on offer here comes from the United States, has a low and verifiable mileage of only 118,000 km (73,000 miles), and what makes this car interesting (and special) is the manual 5-speed transmission, which is a perfect match for the silky smooth-running six-cylinder engine, codenamed M110. An extremely fine power source with a beautiful sound! The body colour 'Signal Red' has a deep gloss, mostly has retained the original paint, and the bodywork is in excellent condition. The doors have the typical quality feel that characterises a Mercedes-Benz from this period. The body parts look good, and the whole reflects the high spec level Mercedes intended at the time. The characteristic 'Barock' rims also look very beautiful.

In the interior, we find fine black leather upholstery (no artificial leather), and the overall appearance is beautiful, including the dashboard. The same applies when we take a look under the hood. The low mileage is truly reflected in the car’s condition. Driving this SL takes us back to the 1980s. Admittedly, the fun radio with cassette player also contributes to that. The M110 engine runs quietly, has more than enough pulling power, and the suspension gives a solid impression, just as you would expect from a German top product of that time. The low mileage and recent maintenance carried out on this SL naturally contribute to this. We provide this car with an American 'clean Carfax.' This means that this specimen is free of reported problems. In addition, this SL comes with recent invoices confirming this SL has received all necessary maintenance in recent years. For example, the brake pads, front calipers, and various suspension parts were replaced approximately 1,200 km ago.

This Mercedes also comes with the original manual. An R107 SL with low mileage and a manual five-speed transmission is not something we often see. Additionally, this specimen is in very good condition and has received the maintenance it deserves. Are you interested in this car? Then contact us via the 'request more information' form. We will then contact you as soon as possible.
