The Car

This 1992Land Rover Defender 110 is a left-hand-drive station wagon, delivered new by Land Rover España SLU and first registered in the Balearic Islands, Spain, on 10/02/1993. It has had three owners and was later relocated to Barcelona in 2008. Last year, the vehicle was exported to North America and is now offered with a clean Pennsylvanian title with an Out of Country brand.

Prior to the vehicle’s export to the US, the Defender underwent a comprehensive body restoration and mechanical overhaul, as well as a fully reupholstered interior. The body restoration included new front wings, aluminum sills, reskinned doors to eliminate future galvanic corrosion, and a new rear door. The body was completely repainted in Audi’s Nardo Grey, a contemporary twist on Land Rover’s Welsh Grey. Upon reassembly, all fixings were replaced with stainless steel, and new gaskets, seals, and rubbers were fitted throughout. The vehicle presents in fabulous condition. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a selection of desirable accessories, including a KBX front grill and light surrounds, exterior LED lights and headlights, an uprated steering damper, a 2-inch lift kit, Sawtooth wheels fitted with 265/75 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires, a tubular roof rack and ladder, a NAS rear step, Fire and Ice-style side steps, and a custom-made front bumper with a concealed winch mount and LED running lights.

Internally, the vehicle’s headliner has been re-trimmed in synthetic suede, and the seats have been replaced with premium perforated leatherette with white stitching for both the front and second rows. For convenience, a Sony 9” Android and Apple CarPlay head unit has been fitted with underdash speakers.

Mechanically, the vehicle has undergone a host of preventative maintenance procedures, including a replacement clutch, rebuilt Garrett turbocharger, timing belt and tensioner, rebuilt alternator and starter motor, replacement rear differential bearings, propshaft UJs, wheel bearings, and new track rod ends. The hubs have also been resealed.

The result is a thoroughly restored and modernized Defender that commands attention wherever it goes.

Service records, import documents, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, and a Pennsylvania title are all included with the vehicle.
Please Note: This Defender is located in Easton, Pennsylvania, US, and is PA Titled.

History Of The Land Rover

The Land Rover Series range was launched in 1948 and the model, now known as the Defender, was launched in 1983 and the continuous run finished in January 2016, after 67 years. Land Rovers were inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep immediately after the war and by 1992 they claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had ever built were still in use. The Defender and Series ranges have had a unique international presence throughout the production run, having been exported, manufactured, and produced under license by a number of other manufacturers in a variety of markets, including Australia, Southern, and North Africa, Turkey, Brazil, Pakistan, and Malaysia, to name just a few.  In 1993 Land Rover decided to take the plunge into the US market after their successful launch of the Range Rover brand in 1987 in order to offer an upmarket alternative to the Jeep Wrangler targeted at adventurous buyers. Land Rover finally had to retract their offering from the North American and Canadian markets in 1997 due to economic viability. The Defenders offered in the US during the 90’s had to be significantly modified in comparison to Land Rover’s other export markets. Subsequent federal safety regulation amendments finally withdrew the Defender from the US market entirely in 1997, with Land Rover throwing their attention towards upmarket Discovery and Range Rover models that were being built from the ground up.
