The Jensen Interceptor was launched in 1966, utilising an all steel bodyshell, breaking away from the company's traditional method of construction that used Glass Reinforced Plastic. Designed by Carrozzeria Touring, the early cars were built by Vignale before production eventually was carried out at the Jensen works in West Bromwich. The imposing presence, power and distinctive shape that included the wrap around glass rear hatch drew the rich and famous to the marque attracting the attention of esteemed owners such as HRH Princess Anne, Sir Cliff Richard, actors John Thaw CBE, Tony Curtis, and Eric Morecambe OBE who once told Parky that his Jensen Interceptor 'brought him sunshine'. It has often been said and many would rightly argue that 1966-1976 Jensen Interceptors were, and remain, a realistic alternative to the Aston Martin V8 of the same period. The Mark II version was announced in October 1969, with slightly revised styling around the headlamps, front grille and bumper and revised rear lights. The interior was substantially revised to meet US regulations.

This delightful example was purchased new in 1970 by Robin Ellis the TV heart-throb from the original and popular series Poldark. It was one of just 694 right hand drive examples manufactured. Several Jensen enthusiasts have owned the car since then. The early life of this extremely smart Jensen is supported by a large file containing the factory documentation, older paperwork and historic MoT test certificates. In 2015 this Mk. II benefitted from a fully detailed and documented restoration. In recent times the car was fitted with a starter button and a cut-off switch. The most recent service was carried out in January 2023. This Jensen represents a perfect combination of right car for the right money given its realistic estimate. Consigned by Dominic Lake.
