Description

This top class Jaguar XK140 SE Roadster was manufactured on the 27th September 1955 and left the factory finished in Red with Biscuit trim. This matching numbers MC/Special Equipment model is an incredibly correct car featuring the high performance C Type cylinder head and also has the highly desirable overdrive option. The XK was supplied new to Roger P Ahrenberg of Maricopa County, Arizona and the car was resident in the Grand Canyon state for most of its life. Over in the US the XK was subject of a three year full, complete body off restoration and then purchased in 2002 for some long distance touring. In 2008 the XK completed the Copperstate 1000 and California Mille faultlessly and was eventually imported into the UK in 2014.

Since arriving in the UK the XK has been subject of a steering rack overhaul, new adjustable shock absorbers and for improved usability, front brake discs. The radiator has also been upgraded to a higher performance aluminium unit and we can confirm the car is sensational on the road. The most recent owner bought the car with intentions for long distance overseas touring in Europe and the car is absolutely perfect for this. On the road the car is outstanding, the engine is super fit offering excellent performance and oil pressure, the Moss gearbox is fabulous to use and the overdrive comes in smoothly. Steering is precise, brakes are sharp and improved from standard, and the XK140 handles superbly with an excellent road holding. There is no doubt this is a car for touring and a December 2021 feature in Classic & Sportscar Magazine, including front cover shows the car on the open road and looking its best.

With little over 10,000 miles since restoration the XK still presents beautifully. The body is excellent with superb panel gaps, stunning paintwork and beautiful bright work. Chrome wire wheels are in excellent order, the Black mohair hood superb and the underside equally impressive with a fantastic clean chassis. The interior has been beautifully re-trimmed with stunning leather, high quality carpets and smart dashboard with excellent dials. The engine bay has been finished to a very high standard, and its clear from its condition over 20 years on since completion that this Jaguar XK140 has been professionally rebuilt to a excellent standard.
