A Jaguar XK 140 Drophead Coupé in dark blue with light leather upholstery and carpets. Somehow, it does wonders for the XK in our opinion, presenting a very stylish overall look. In 1954, Jaguar introduced the XK140. At first glance, one might say that the XK140 bears a strong resemblance to the XK120, its predecessor. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that the XK140 is a more refined car. For instance, the grille is different, and the XK140 has larger bumpers.

Underneath, Jaguar made several technical changes. They shifted the engine slightly forward and equipped the chassis with stiffer torsion bars at the front. Luckily, Jaguar continued to use the trusted and fantastic 3.4-litre engine. This six-cylinder-engine now delivered 190 hp, and with the gearbox receiving closer ratios, the Jaguar XK140 became somewhat livelier and more eager. Overdrive also became an option. All of this was great news because the 'new' Jaguar now kept up with the times in terms of performance.

Our Jaguar at Gallery Aaldering in Brummen is from 1954 and comes with extensive documentation such as the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, several original brochures, a period road test, a maintenance and service book, and parts catalogue.

This XK underwent restoration and overhaul work a few years ago. As a result, the car is in very nice condition. The exterior is beautiful with a deep glossy paint finish, and the various body parts fit nicely. The wire wheels are in very good condition, as are all the other chrome parts and windows. The underside of the car also looks very good.

The interior offers a stylish environment, and it is a fantastic place to spend time in. The gauges are beautiful and correct, while the leather upholstery is of high quality. The seats are comfortable, and the steering wheel is beautifully designed and in good condition. The carpets add a touch of luxury and look well-maintained as well.

Under the bonnet, everything looks fresh, indicating regular maintenance and careful attention to detail. The engine runs smoothly and sounds healthy, making the car very enjoyable to drive. The handling is very good, and the clutch and brakes feel solid. On the road, this car makes a solid impression, with a powerful engine that accelerates smoothly and produces a lovely sound. In short, this example combines excellent performance with a timeless look, making it a true pleasure to drive.
