1978 | Jaguar XJ 6 L 4.2

I am offering you the opportunity to purchase an original Jaguar Limousine XJ 4.2 with a unique history, from many years of family ownership.

The car, registered on 1 June 1978, with a mileage of approx. 160 thousand kilometers, was purchased in 1978 by my British grandfather at the Jaguar / British Leyland factory in England on 7 November 1977 and brought to his residence in Switzerland. (The original invoice and import documents are all present).

So the car spent the first part of its career in Switzerland / Ascona and was always carefully maintained and cared for.

Following the years in Switzerland, I took over the car after the death of my grandfather and imported it to Germany over 30 years ago. Since then, the car has been regularly serviced by Jaguar experts, Manfred Berger and most recently by ‘Zippert Fahrzeugtechnik in the Munich area. The car is in very good condition. It is rust-free (only driven in summer) and still has approx. 98 % of its original paintwork, only the narrow wheel arches and the car radio aerial anchorage have been carefully repainted. (Car radio aerial: - The driver at the time had not retracted the aerial when he drove into the garage).

It has Matching numbers and is equipped with the org. first radio system.

The car has, according to its age, a certain patina and corresponding signs of use, inside a black leather interior, the headliner (beige) was redone about app. 6 years ago. The carburetor system was also completely overhauled and rebuilt by Zippert (over 7,000.- Euros in 2023/24) The car has never been driven by me in the rain or in winter time and is parked in a single garage.
