Description

This will be an incredible machine, it’s been mechanically rebuilt by an engineer with a history of building cars to a fantastic specification. Our first dealings with this particular engineer was when a stunning Jaguar C Type Recreation came into our hands having been built by him over many years. That car continues to be enjoyed over in Austria. This particular car is going to make an incredibly quick car, one that will compete with the likes of an AC Cobra on the track. An absolute fortune has been spent on parts, the cost of the Ford 302 4.9 V8 being substantial enough alone.

This TVR has a comprehensive history file full of receipts and makes for a nice project that will be a fantastic fast road car when finished. With most of the expenditure on parts having been carried out, it will mainly require some labour to complete it.The fully rebuilt Ford 302 4.9L V8 engine has a superb specification to include Edelbrock Cylinder heads, uprated camshaft, Weland inlet manifold, 700cfm Holley carb, stainless steel headers and Accel distributor. The chassis has been strengthened and rebuilt along with the suspension, brakes, and cooling system. A rebuilt Borgwarner T5 unit transfers the power by a custom Bailey Morris propshaft to a rebuilt Jaguar E-type rear axle with a limited slip differential. The suspension has been polybushed, there are fully adjustable coilovers fitted all round. The steering rack has been rebuilt and fitted with new track rods and mounts. This parts alone total in excess of asking price.

The custom stainless steel exhaust system will make for a great sound once completed, the uprated front brakes will provide great stopping power, and the V8 power plant in the front will propel this very light car at a great rate. This TVR started its life out as an M-series which carried a 2.5L TR engine which was purposely used for the American market as the engine had proven to meet the emission standards at the time. The cars were, as all TVR's are, a lightweight sporty car made for Sunday fun. Fitting a V8 and uprating the rolling chassis has elaborated on what TVR cars stand for, unapologetic performance. The TVR M Series was originally produced with a choice of 3 engines. The 1600M used the Ford 1600cc straight 4 cylinder engine, the 2500M used the 2498cc straight 6 cylinder engine, and lastly the 3000M which used the 2994cc Ford Essex V6.

This vehicle came into us as a part exchange due to a change of circumstance not allowing the owner to finish the project. This presents as a great value opportunity to complete what will be a stunning car competing with the likes of Shelby Cobras and RSR Porsche's with looks and performance.
