    - Everything is well-thought of: e.g. adjustable footrest for the passenger and crossing windshield wipers
    - Ready-to-roll and in mint condition

The Fiat 2300 was first shown in 1960 at the Turin Motor Show as the successor to the Fiat 2100. It is an elegant Italian beauty that managed to charm many, as it does nowadays, being a classic. Additionally, the 2300 is the result of the proficiency of Italian designers at Ghia.

The 2300 came in two versions. First, there was the sedan or 'Saloon' that was designed by Dante Giacosa, chief engineer at Fiat at that time. On the other hand, there was the coupe version, whose design was entrusted to the seasoned Sergio Sartorelli at Ghia. Both versions proudly carried the Fiat emblem with great elegance.

Previously, the 2300’s predecessors Fiat 2100 and Fiat 1800 were equipped with Fiat's first post-war six-cylinder engine, with a capacity of 2.1 liters and 1.8 liters, respectively, as their names show. The 2300 followed this nomenclature tradition, although the engine’s displacement got larger by increasing the bore and stroke. Under the bonnet, a 2.3-litre straight-six engine was mounted, producing an enjoyable 115 horsepower. The straight-six was initially handled with a 4-speed manual transmission and later came an optional 3-speed automatic transmission, making the Fiat 2300 the first Fiat with an automatic gearbox.

Various variants appeared, in 1963, a sportier version, the 2300 S, was introduced. It featured modified pistons, two carburettors instead of one, an adjusted camshaft, and a sporty exhaust system. Also a spacious station wagon was released.

In 1968, the Fiat 2300 was succeeded by Fiat’s 130.

    Fiat 2300 S

The Fiat 2300 S may seem somewhat modest, but it is nowhere near being modest. With approx. 150 horsepower from the straight-six engine fed by two Weber carburettors, it can reach a speed of up to 190 kilometres per hour, making is faster than a Porsche 912. It is one of the fastest GTs of the sixties, and therefore, it certainly is not as modest as it may appear at first sight. Ghia was charged with designing the 2300 S Coupé, but Abarth assisted in tuning it, and that show when the 2300 S Coupé accelerates.

Enthusiasts adore the 2300 S Coupé; they are rare, and their value is steadily increasing. It is not just a luxurious and sporty classic car, it shows to be a wise investment as well.
