Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this super Ferrari 348 tb, which wears the ultimate number plate for the vehicle, 348 TB. The 348 in the model’s name referred to the 3.4 litre engine capacity and 8 cylinders, whilst the “t” in the designation referred to the transverse gearbox mounted at the rear of the engine. The Ferrari 348 tb had a UK list price of £69,498.81 and only 134 examples were imported to the UK, which makes this car highly collectable.

Heir to the 328 GTB, the 348 TB was a completely new car, which offered a new interpretation of the two-seater mid-engined V8 berlinetta. The new design combined styling cues from the Testarossa – along the flanks – with ones from classic models of the past (such as the front-end treatment, reminiscent of the 375 MM). The body was designed by Pininfarina and bore a strong family resemblance to the Testarossa model, but on a smaller scale: particularly the straked air inlets in the door ducts and the rear light treatment where the lenses are hidden behind a full width matt black slatted grille. This was the first series production Ferrari not to have a separate tubular steel frame. Instead, the pressed steel chassis has a separate tubular steel sub-frame bolted to it, with the body panels robot welded and bolted to the main structure.

Mated to a new transverse 5-speed gearbox, the longitudinally mounted 3404 cc V8 engine produced 300 bhp (221Kw @ 7,200 rpm), which the new high torsional strength, semi-monocoque chassis transferred to the road extremely efficiently. 0-62 mph acceleration was achieved in just 5.6 secs and top speed was quoted at over 172 mph.

Our Ferrari 348 tb was supplied new by Maranello Sales, Egham and is complete with the original leather handbook wallet, dating letter, dealer invoice, stamped service booklet, Ferrari invoice file, historic MOT certificates, spare keys and even the road fund licence discs. With a recent service and cam belt change completed at Ferrari marque experts, this special 348 tb will be supplied with its valuable Ferrari model cherished number plate and is all ready to be enjoyed. A 12-month comprehensive warranty will also be included.

Available to view now at our London showrooms.
