Description

The Ferrari 308 was introduced in Paris in 1975, as a replacement for the Dino 246 and substitute for the 308 GT4, to fill the growing demand for non 12-cylinder cars. Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina penned the distinctive design, and these lines have gradually become legendary, as he was also responsible for both the Dino 206 / 246 and the Berlinetta Boxer.

This 308 GTB is an early steel car (chassis no. 20213) which, like all the earliest steel models, started life in the United States. It was imported from Long Beach, California to Aarhus, Denmark in November 2011, after which it was cleared and registered in Denmark. 308s from the mid-70s are undeniably the most attractive examples, because here even the American models were free of both large bumpers, extra indicators and reduced power due to emission requirements. In addition, our 308 is factory blue, which is extremely scarce in the world of Ferrari. It stands on period correct 14" magnesium rims, wrapped in 225 / 60 -14 Michelin Pilot tyres.

The 2.9-liter V8 breathes through carburetors rather than being fuel-injected, which results in a significantly higher output of 240 hp, in contrast to the later and weaker injection cars that only produced approximately 200 hp. Incidentally the soundtrack is nothing short of euphoric on the early cars, when the four Weber carburetors are given permission to really breathe. In 2009, the engine was taken out and overhauled, which is documented with both pictures and invoices. The complete stainless quadruple exhaust from Italian Tubi Style, rounds off the mechanics and design in style.

The light interior is elegantly contrasted to the Blu Scuro Dino paintwork, and offers classic Ferrari looks with a gated shifter, 3-spoke steering wheel, analog flip buttons, and two-tone leather seats. The dashboard frames 5 working gauges, and both the electric windows and the air conditioning work as they should. This 308 GTB ticks all the boxes that enthusiasts value most, and is therefore not just a beautiful driving machine, but also an excellent investment.

The car is well documented with invoices, inspection reports, customs and tax papers, and a lot of correspondence with pictures and history from its time in California. This car is ready for immediate delivery. For inspection and test drive please contact the sales department on (+45) 3333 7000.
